Warrant Arrest

A 40-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of a probation warrant. Police were attending a west end residential building for an unrelated matter when the wanted individual was located.  The individual was additionally charged with assault, transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and released with a future court date. Assault

St. Thomas Police attended a west end residential building for an assault. A 72-year-old victim reported being assaulted by multiple individuals inside their apartment. As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old resident, a 40-year-old resident, and 39-year-old resident, all from St. Thomas, were arrested and charged with assault. The individuals were transported to Police Headquarters for processing and released with a future court date. ST25005338.

Thefts

St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a theft. Over 600$ worth of merchandise was stolen from an east end retailer. Suspect was observed on camera filling a cart with items and leaving without paying. Loss prevention reported the suspect is known by the retailer, and the person of interest is a 34-year-old London resident. Incident is still under investigation, and video is being reviewed. St. Thomas Police are investigating the theft of an e-bike from the downtown area. Complainant locked the e-bike to a pole, and the next day discovered it gone. Video of the area is being reviewed. A person of interest has been identified as a 34-year-old St. Thomas resident. The incident is still under investigation. ST25005363.

Breach of Probation

A 49-year-old St. Thomas resident is currently wanted for 3 counts of Failing to Comply with a court order in relation to Intimate Partner Violence. The individual entered into a court order in April of 2024, to be of good behavior, to not communicate with the ex-partner, and to not go within 100 meters of where the ex-partner lives etc. The individual had breached these conditions by attending the residence and leaving notes and flowers. A warrant for the individual’s arrest is being sought. ST25004930.

Fraud

A 58-year-old St. Thomas resident is out 250$, after falling victim to a puppy scam on Facebook. The victim sent the scammer apple gift cards as a deposit for a puppy. After the bar codes were provided to the scammer, the scammer disappeared off of Facebook, and the advertisement for the puppy was no longer available to view. The victim was unable to provide police with any investigative leads as to the identity of the scammer. ST25005351.

Counterfeit Money

Police are investigating after a counterfeit 50$ bill was provided in a drive thru at a local restaurant. The vehicle description, license plate, and driver description were provided to Police, and captured on camera. RCMP have been notified, and STPS Criminal Investigation Bureau are continuing with the investigation. ST25005343.
