St. Thomas Police attend a downtown retail location for a theft. The complainant reported an individual selected cleaning product, and walked out of the store, failing to pay for the items totaling $81.31. Video evidence is being reviewed, and the incident is still under investigation. ST25005635
St. Thomas Police attend an east end retailer location for a theft. Loss Prevention Officer reported an individual pushing a stroller, and had a large dog, selected items, and left the store making no attempts to pay. St. Thomas Police attend a west end residential area, for a report of a theft. The victim reported parking their e-bike at the side of the residence, when they returned, it was gone. Video was captured, and the person responsible for the theft was identified. As a result, a 39-year-old St. Thomas resident is wanted for theft under $5000. ST25005671
St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown retailer. Staff reported an individual selected items and left, with no attempt to pay. The selected items were valued at 270$. Video of the suspect was captured, and being reviewed. The incident is still under investigation. ST25005673
Break & Enters
A business on the north east side of St. Thomas reported a break and enter into their compound. St. Thomas Police are waiting for supporting evidence to continue with the investigation. The complainant stated there is video, and a person of interest. Under investigation. ST25005634
A business in the north end reported significant damage caused during a break and enter into the compound. At this time there is no supporting evidence to proceed with an investigation. As of now, it is unclear as to what, if anything was taken. The incident is still under investigation. ST25005648
Assault/Cause Disturbance
A 34-year-old has been arrested after assaulting an employee at a downtown business. The individual became upset yelling and swearing at staff, causing a disturbance. Management then attempted to escort the individual out of the business, when they were assaulted. Upon arrival, the individual was located, arrested, and charged with Assault, Cause Disturbance, Fail to Comply with Probation x3, Fail to leave premises when directed, and for soliciting. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing and held for a court appearance. ST25005658
Fraud
St. Thomas Police are currently investigating a fraud. The victim had posted an item for sale on Facebook Marketplace, a short time later, accepted what they thought was an e-transfer. Later, the victim noticed unauthorized fund transfers from their account into other unknown accounts. The criminal investigations bureau is assisting with the investigation, by writing production orders, to follow the money, and to determine account holder information.
