Theft, Warrants, Mischief & Special Constable Assaulted

Theft

St. Thomas Police attended a residential area on the south side of the city, for a theft of license plates from a vehicle. The victim reported while visiting family, the vehicle was in a parking lot. Upon returning, the front and back plate were missing.  The incident is still under investigation. ST25015310

Warrant Arrests

St. Thomas Police arrested a 54-year-old St. Thomas resident for fraud, after they obtained credit in a family members name. Charges stemmed from an investigation launched in June by members of St. Thomas Police Criminal Investigations Bureau. The individual was processed at Police Headquarters and released with a future court date. ST25012666, ST25015261

St. Thomas Police arrested a 57-year-old St. Thomas resident that was located in an encampment in the city’s west end. The individual was wanted on the strength of a probation warrant. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing, and later released with a future court date. ST25015281, RM25000507

Mischief

St. Thomas Police attended a local park for a report of damaged trees. By-law staff phoned Police to report trees had been cut down in the park with what appeared to be a hatchet by the marks left on the trees. The incident is still under investigation.  ST25015265

Assaults

St. Thomas Police were called to a residential area in the city’s east end for a neighbor dispute. An argument about an outdoor cat destroying the property, resulted in one resident spitting in the face of the other. As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old St. Thomas resident was arrested and charged with Assault. The individual was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. After the arrest, additional threats were made by the individual regarding plans upon their release, so the individual was held for a court appearance. ST25015295

A St. Thomas Special Constable was assaulted when loading a prisoner for transport. A 34-year-old St. Thomas resident who was in custody on serious criminal charges, was being transported from the courthouse to the correctional facility, when the individual spit in the face of the Special Constable. As the individual was already in custody, a warrant was requested, and the additional charges of assault, and 3 counts of failing to comply with Probation Order were laid. ST25015278
