Stunt Driving – 23 year old London resident has been charged

St. Thomas, ON – Tuesday June 17th 2025

A 23 year old London resident is facing stunt driving charges after travelling at nearly double the posted speed limit during overnight speed enforcement by members of the STPS.

Just after midnight on Tuesday June 17th, officers were monitoring traffic on Sunset Road when they observed a vehicle travelling 112 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was charged with Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt.

In Ontario, driving 40 km/h or more where speed limits are under 80km/h qualifies as stunt driving, which carries severe penalties.

As a result:

  • The driver’s license was suspended for 30 days

  • The vehicle was towed and impounded for 14 days

The accused has been issued a Part III Summons to attend court.

The St. Thomas Police Service remains committed to road safety and will continue targeted enforcement efforts to deter dangerous driving behaviours that put our community at risk.
