A 40-year-old Kitchener resident has been charged with failing to comply with two counts of a probation order and one count of failing to comply with a police release document. This individual was previously released from custody with conditions not to contact another person, and failed to comply with that condition. An arrest warrant has been requested for this suspect. While on general patrol, one of our officers located a 37-year-old St. Thomas resident who was wanted on a London Police arrest warrant. This individual was taken into our custody until London Police officers attended St. Thomas, and took over custody. Ref# ST26017131
We located a 40-year-old St. Thomas resident overnight in a construction site. Through investigation, we found the individual to be breaching a curfew condition from a police release document. We are investigating the theft of security cameras from a residence on the west end of the city. We spoke with the complainant and viewed the saved video footage of the theft. This remains under investigation. Ref# ST26017133
A 45-year-old St. Thomas resident fell victim to an online scam. The complainant received numerous phone calls from individuals stating that they were from the Royal Bank. The victim was told to login to a website where his banking information was compromised and money withdrawn without consent. This remains under investigation. Ref# ST26017143
We attended Waterworks Park located at 2 South Edgeware Road regarding a large gathering of teens and loud noise. On arrival many teens scattered and fled the park, we arrested and charged two youths for being intoxicated in a public place. One youth was presently wanted on an arrest warrant and that warrant was executed. The youths were brought to the police station and later released to a parent. Ref# ST26017177/ST26017179

We are investigating a theft from a vehicle where suspects stole a wallet containing debit and credit cards. These cards were fraudulently used via online gambling sites. This remains under investigation. Ref# ST26017191
Protecting yourself from fraud
In an ongoing effort to help protect the residents of St. Thomas from falling victim to online scams and fraud, the St. Thomas Police Service would like to remind the community on ways to protect yourself and things to consider while online:
- Always get a second opinion from family or friends regarding the situation
- No employer will reach out to you through apps like Whats App or Telegram
- No employer will ever pay you in crypto currency
- No employer will ask you to invest your own money
- Use the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre as a resource to familiarize yourself with current scams and additional ways to protect yourself
