Breach of probation
On Friday the 4th of September we were contacted by a local female who reported her former partner had been contacting her by phone, text and email while bound by a probation order that included conditions of no contact. A warrant is being sought for the male for breach of probation and criminal harassment. Incident ST26017066.
Break and Enter/Theft:
On Friday we received a call from a construction crew renovating a building in the downtown core. Overnight unknown persons broke into the job site and stole numerous tools, totaling in excess of $4000.00. Video was reviewed from the area and three suspects were observed nearby shortly after midnight. Warrant Arrest/Search Warrant
In a joint effort between frontline, property crime, and our CIRT team, a 45-year-old St Thomas man was located and arrested on reasonable grounds for the recent break and enter and theft of a safe from RONA (ST26016935). The male was arrested, charged break and enter to commit indictable offence, wear disguise with intent, and mischief. Search incident to arrest the male had cocaine on his person and was further charged with possession of a controlled substance. A search warrant was further conducted at the residence where the male had been staying with evidence being seized as well as a large quantity of Oxycodone, 55.4 grams of cocaine, and 21.8 grams of fentanyl. Total value of drugs seized was estimated at $5690.00. More charges are pending. Incident ST26017072.
Warrant Arrest:
While conducting a search warrant at the male’s residence a 51-year-old female was located inside the home who had an existing warrant existed for failing to comply with her bail conditions. The female was arrested and taken to court. Incident ST26017096.
Fraud:
A local resident is out $1500.00 after being convinced to deposit a cheque sent to him in the mail by an unknown party he had met online. The victim transferred $1500.00 from the $2000.00 cheque at the request of the suspect, and the bank later declared the cheque as fraudulent. The matter is under investigation. Incident ST2601074.
Assault:
Staff members at a downtown business called 911 on Friday afternoon to report that an unknown female had attended the business, asked to use the washroom and then later assaulted a staff member when asked to leave, resulting in minor injuries. The female suspect was identified by officers on arrival from security video and arrested a short time later, resisting officers as they effected the arrest. The 52-year-old woman was charged with assault and resist arrest, held for court, and remanded by the courts. Incident ST26017082.
Vehicle Entry:
A homeowner in the south end of the city reported that his vehicle had been entered overnight and a Leica Rugby Rotating Laser, value approximately $4000.00, was taken. Video was available from the neighbouring residence but it did not cover the incident. Robbery:
On Friday afternoon we were contacted by a resident in the north end of the city who reported being attacked overnight, at approximately 10pm, in front of his apartment building, by unknown suspects. The victim had been assaulted, resulting in injuries to his face and head, and a gold chain had been stolen. Blood located near the building corroborated the information provided. The matter is under investigation by our Criminal Investigation branch. Stolen E-Bike:
An e-bike was stolen overnight in the south end of the city from the victim’s driveway. Missing is a black and yellow Cycrown Cycknight electric bicycle valued at approximately $1200.00. A photo is attached of the missing bike, that had a green bin attached at the rear at the time of the theft. Bail Violations:
On Friday night we received a call from a male party who reported ongoing contact from his ex-partner who resides in another jurisdiction. The 40-year-old female is currently bound by a release order and probation from previous incidents that include no contact with the male victim. A warrant is being sought for the female for fail to comply with undertaking and fail to comply with probation x2. Incident ST26017115.
