STPS Media Release – Sunday, November 30th.

A 50-year-old St. Thomas resident attended the St. Thomas Police Station and turned themself in to police due to an existing St. Thomas Police arrest warrant. This individual was taken into custody and later released by police with a court date and conditions. Ref# ST25021761

We attended a south end address and arrested a 17-year-old St. Thomas resident on the strength of a St. Thomas Police arrest warrant. This individual was released at the scene with a future court date and conditions. Ref# ST25016952

We are investigating a theft where suspects attended a residence near the core of the city, entered a carport and stole a small framed blue and grey bicycle and tools. Ref# ST25021772

We arrested and charged a 29-year-old St. Thomas resident for two counts of breach of probation. This individual was on conditions not to attend a retail store for which they were located in and attempting to steal goods. Once arrested, the suspect was found to be wanted on multiple arrest warrants from several police agencies. We executed our warrants and later released the accused with a future court date, conditions, and then given to the custody of the London Police Service to execute their warrants. Protecting yourself from fraud

In an ongoing effort to help protect the residents of St. Thomas from falling victim to online scams and fraud, the St. Thomas Police Service would like to remind the community on ways to protect yourself and things to consider while online:

  • Always get a second opinion from family or friends regarding the situation
  • No employer will reach out to you through apps like Whats App or Telegram
  • No employer will ever pay you in crypto currency
  • No employer will ask you to invest your own money
  • Use the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre as a resource to familiarize yourself with current scams and additional ways to protect yourself
