Mischief

City staff reported damage to a fence at a downtown baseball diamond, believed to have occurred sometime within the past week. The St. Thomas Police Service has initiated an investigation. ST26012496

Warrant Arrest

A male was arrested following a theft investigation conducted by the Property Crime Unit. He has been charged with theft under $5,000 and was held for a court appearance. ST26012499

Phone Call / Threats

A male reported receiving a phone call from an unknown individual who questioned his ethnicity, made derogatory remarks, and issued threats. The matter remains under investigation. ST26012505

Frauds via Facebook Marketplace

Two St. Thomas residents suffered financial losses after responding to separate fraudulent advertisements posted on Facebook Marketplace. Both incidents are under investigation. Police remind the public to exercise caution when engaging with online advertisements from unverified sources. ST26012508/ST26012511

Probation Violation

Police received information indicating that a male had been in the presence of a female contrary to the conditions of his probation order. He has since been arrested and charged with failing to comply with probation. ST26012512

Warrant Arrest

St. Thomas Police assisted another police agency by executing an arrest warrant on a male who voluntarily attended STPS Headquarters. He was released on an undertaking on behalf of the originating agency. ST26012513

Lost Wallet Returned

A resident’s lost wallet was returned after being located by a concerned citizen who turned it over to police. STPS extends appreciation for the individual’s honesty and community-minded actions. ST26012523

Fail to Stop

Officers observed a dirt bike operating in violation of the Highway Traffic Act in the south end of the city. When police attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle fled. In consideration of public safety, officers did not pursue the dirt bike. ST26012550

Police Administer Narcan

Officers responded with Ambulance Services to a reported overdose in the downtown area. Police administered Narcan to revive a male, who was subsequently transported to hospital for further care. ST26012544
