The St. Thomas Police Service is once again partnering with Doug Tarry Homes for the annual Back-to-School School Supply Drive, helping local elementary students begin the school year with the supplies they need to learn and participate fully.
This year’s drive will take place on Monday, August 31st, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart St. Thomas, 1063 Talbot Street. Members of the St. Thomas Police Service and volunteers from Doug Tarry Homes will be on site collecting donations.
The community is invited to donate new and unopened school supplies for students in JK through Grade 6. Requested items include backpacks, lunch bags, reusable water bottles, pencil cases, notebooks, binders, folders, pencils, crayons, markers, headphones and other classroom essentials. Cash donations will be used to purchase needed supplies.
Every donated item helps remove a barrier to learning and gives students a more confident and prepared start to the school year.
Donations will be sorted and distributed by the St. Thomas Police Service and Doug Tarry Homes to local elementary schools.
Community members are encouraged to stop by, donate what they can and help ensure St. Thomas students have a successful start to the new school year.
