St. Thomas Police Service media release for Tuesday January 3rd, 2023

St. Thomas Police Service is seeking information from a break and enter at a 1063 Talbot Street store.  Attached is a photograph of 2 people, anyone that can identify them please contact STPS and reference incident # ST22019949.

St. Thomas Police Service is currently investigating a theft of Christmas decorations from a south end residence.  On the 29th day of December 2022 the decorations were removed from the front lawn of the residence.  Anyone with information is asked to contact STPS and reference incident # ST23000060.

On the 2nd day of January 2023 police attended a Talbot Street address for a report of a trespasser on the property.  One of the parties involved a 41 year old St. Thomas man was wanted by the Elgin County OPP.  The male was taken into custody and turned over to the OPP.  ST23000087.

During the month of December 2022 St. Thomas Police Service focused on aggressive driving along Sunset Drive after receiving several citizen complaints.  As a result of this enforcement there was 46 reports submitted and 41 charges laid for various Highway Traffic Act offences.

St. Thomas Police Service ran festive R.I.D.E. programs over the month of December.  The goal was to educate the public and reduce impaired driving.  The results of this initiative were over 800 vehicles checked at various locations in the city, 9 Criminal Code Impaired driving offences, and several roadside screening device tests.
