St. Thomas Police Service media release for Saturday September 16th, 2023

On the 15th day of September2023 St. Thomas Police attended a south end residence for a vehicle entry.  A window to the vehicle was smashed out allowing the suspect to gain entry and removed items from the vehicle.  ST23016431.

On the 15th day of September 2023 an employee from a downtown business reported that someone had emailed their employer to change their banking information for direct deposit.  The employee never received their pay and reported this fraud to police.  ST23016444.

On the 15th day of September 2023 police attended a Burwell Road park for a break and enter.  Entry was gained to the storage shed where a quantity of tools and a refrigerator were stolen.  Anyone with information is asked to contact STPS.  ST23016433.

London Police arrest a 31 year old London, ON man on the strength of a St. Thomas PS warrant.  The male was processed and released on a future court date.  ST23016438.

A St. Thomas resident fell victim to an internet scam.  The victim received a message that her computer was compromised and to have it fixed that she needed to send bitcoins to cover the cost.  This was a scam and there was no virus on the computer.  ST23016449.

A 25 year old St. Thomas woman turned herself in on an outstanding arrest warrant.  The female was processed and released on a future court date.  ST23016450.

On the 15th day of September 2023 a St. Thomas resident parked their vehicle at Pinafore Park.  While they were walking in the park a male suspect entered the vehicle and stole the victim’s purse.  The male fled the area on a bicycle.  It was later learned that the victim’s bank card was used at a local variety store.  This matter is still under investigation.  Picture of suspect below. St. Thomas Police Service is currently investigating a break and enter to a residence on Fairview Avenue.  The residence was entered during daytime hours and a quantity of property was removed.  Anyone with information is asked to contact STPS and reference incident # ST23016468.

On the 15th day of September2023 St. Thomas Police attended a south end residence for a vehicle entry.  The victim’s wallet was taken from the vehicle.  ST23016461.

On the 15th day of September 2023 St. Thomas Police Service conduct a R.I.D.E. program as a result a 51 year old Port Stanley man was arrested and charged with impaired driving and released on a future court date.  ST23016483.

On the 15th day of September 2023 a 18 year old St. Thomas man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with release conditions.  The male was released on a future court date.  ST23016473.

On the 15th day of September 2023 St. Thomas Police Service received a report of a found bicycle.  The bicycle is a red mountain bike with logos on the side and red spokes.  If this is your bicycle contact STPS. ST23016481.

Later that evening a citizen reported a possible impaired driver entering our city.  Officers were able to locate the vehicle as a result of police investigation a 62 year old Sarnia woman was charged with impaired driving and released on a future court date.  ST23016487.

On the 16th day of September 2023 St. Thomas Police attended a 1063 Talbot Street store for a report of a shoplifter.  A male and female entered the store together.  A cart was filled with items and the male fled the store with the cart.  The males identity is unknown at this time.  ST23016494.
