A 45 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested and charged following the investigation of a commercial break and enter at RONA on Edward Street.
On Wednesday September 2nd, 2026, the St. Thomas Police Service responded to an alarm at the business. When employees arrived, they discovered that entry had been gained through the roof.
The investigation included an extensive review of surveillance footage and resulted in officers executing a search warrant at a St. Thomas residence. Stolen property was recovered along with additional evidence connected to the investigation.
On Friday September 4th, members of STPS located and arrested the accused without incident.
During a search following the arrest, officers seized $3,025 in Canadian currency, a cell phone, a tablet and approximately 5.3 grams of cocaine, a large quantity of oxycodone, approximately 55.4 grams of cocaine and 21.8 grams of fentanyl.
The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is $5,690
As a result, the 45 year old has been charged with:
- Break and Enter to Commit an Indictable Offence
- Mischief Under $5,000
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Cocaine

The St. Thomas Police Service has been on scene at RONA, located at 101 Edward Street, since early this morning investigating a reported commercial break and enter.
No employees were inside the business at the time of the incident, and there is no threat to public safety.
