The St. Thomas Police Service is proud to announce a series of exciting, family-friendly events taking place throughout the summer. These initiatives are designed to bring our community together, support youth and families, and create positive connections between officers and the public.
From sports to BBQs and fishing to school supplies, there’s something for everyone to enjoy with the St. Thomas Police Service this summer.
Here’s what’s coming up:

Saturday, July 6 – Chief of Police Community Inclusion Council BBQ
Join us in Pinafore Park for a free BBQ hosted by the Chief of Police – Community Inclusion Council. This event is focused on welcoming newcomers and celebrating diversity in our city. Families are invited to enjoy kids’ activities, a free lunch, and the chance to connect with members of the STPS and the Inclusion Council. -
Wednesday, July 10 – STPA Kids Fishing Derby (Pinafore Park)
A summer tradition returns! Hosted by the St. Thomas Police Association, this free event invites kids and families to cast a line and enjoy a morning of outdoor fun. Prizes, food, and friendly faces await. -
Tuesday, July 16 – Boredom Busters: Summer Sports Day
Beat the mid-summer blues with us! Youth are invited to play basketball, soccer, and road hockey just outside the Joe Thornton Community Centre. No registration needed—just show up and join the fun from 10 am – 12 noon -
Tuesday, August 13 – Boredom Busters 2
If you missed the first one, here’s your second chance! Another day of games and fun with the STPS. Join us ‘At the Joe’ from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. -
Wednesday, August 21 – Back to School, School Supply Drive
For the third year in a row, we’re collecting and distributing school supplies to support local students heading back to class. With help from several community partners, this event continues to grow. Keep an eye on our social media for details and collection locations.
