St. Thomas, ON – Friday September 12th 2025
On Thursday September 11th, 2025, just after 2:00 a.m. St. Thomas Police were dispatched to the Elgin County Railway Museum after receiving a report of a theft in progress after a unknown individual was observed actively stealing electrical wiring from the “Santa’s House” structure, a well-known holiday display.
Officers responded quickly and located 56 year old, Ronald Walker of St. Thomas on the property. In his possession were several electrical wires belonging to the museum. ST25016453/16455
As a result, Walker was charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Walker had also been identified in connection with a separate incident that occurred earlier this week. On Monday, we were called to investigate the report of several residential sites under construction being entered, damaged and the copper wiring on site removed. ST25016250
As a result of that investigation, Walker was charged with:
- Three counts of Failure to Comply with Probation
- Two counts of Break and Enter
- Theft Under $5,000
In total, Walker faces seven new criminal charges.
The STPS held Walker for a court appearance, where he was released on a judicial interim release order.
