Multiple vehicle entries in the last 24 hours

St. Thomas, ON – June 6th, 2023

A reminder from the St. Thomas Police Service to lock your vehicles after police respond to several vehicle entries throughout the city in the last 24 hours.

A vehicle entry on Metcalfe Street has lead to an arrest. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft of a wallet from a vehicle. Through investigation, police learned that the victims bank cards were used at a nearby convenience store. Police attended the store where they were able to review video surveillance and confirm the suspects identity. As a result, a 27 year old St. Thomas resident was located, arrested and charged with three counts of Use of Credit Card, Possession of a Credit Card and Theft from a Vehicle under $5,000. The 27 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released by the courts on an appearance notice. ST23009659

A Milwaukee tool bag, a drill and a key ring have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Church Street. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by the victim who reported that sometime in the overnight hours of June 4th, an unknown person entered their vehicle and removed the tools. No damage to the vehicle was reported ST23009682

Personal hygiene items have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Curtis Street. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by the victim who reported that sometime overnight their vehicle was entered and the products removed. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST23009684

Sunglasses and loose change have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Shaw Valley Drive. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by the victim who reported that at approximately 3:30 a.m. their vehicle was entered and their belongings removed. Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify the suspect. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST23009709

A vehicle on Carnoustie Court has been reported entered. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by the victim who reported that sometime overnight their vehicle was entered. Nothing appeared to be stolen and there was no damage to the vehicle. ST23009713

A security lug nut has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Carnoustie Court. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were contacted by the victim who reported that their vehicle had been entered and it had been captured on video. The victim provided the video to police and the suspects can be seen here ST23009726

A reminder that your nightly routine should include:

  • Locking your vehicle and bringing valuables inside.
  • Locking your shed or garage with your bikes and property inside.
  • Leaving an exterior light on
  • Locking the doors to your home
