Impaired Operation

A 19 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with one count Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) after a traffic stop on Centennial Avenue just after 1:00 a.m. this morning. Officers on community patrol observed the vehicle travelling at a low rate of speed and unable to keep the vehicle from crossing over the white line. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was administered an approved screening device and subsequently failed. The 19 year old was arrested and transported to the station for further testing where it was determined that they were more than 2 times over the legal limit. The resident was released on an undertaking. ST23009743

Robbery

St. Thomas police are investigating a robbery. On Monday June 5th, 2023 police were called by the victim who reports being approached by two unknown males in a parking lot on Talbot Street. The victim was confronted and pushed by the suspects who then stole the victims bike. No injuries were sustained. STPS are reviewing video surveillance and continue to investigate. ST23009720

Break and Enter

$1,000 of merchandise has been reported stolen from a retail store in the 900 block of Talbot Street.  On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police received information about damage to the main door of the location. Upon arrival, the glass door was found to be broken allowing access to the store. St. Thomas police are reviewing available video surveillance and continue to investigate. ST23009664

Two RYOBI power drills, a reciprocating saw, several batteries, a sander and a bag with fishing supplies have been reported stolen from a property on Erie Street after a garage had been entered sometime in the overnight hours of June 4th, 2023. St. Thomas police were called by the victim who reported that sometime after 11:00 p.m. an unknown person(s) entered a detached garage and removed the items. No damage to the garage was reported. Police continue to investigate. ST23009685

Theft 

A green pedal car has been reported stolen. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to investigate the theft of a pedal car from an address on St. George Street. The pedal car, tucked under the stairs of the residence was reported stolen from the area on Monday May 29th, 2023. It is described as having black fenders, a silver cobra head for the brake and a monster energy sticker on the back of the black seat. Video surveillance is available and being reviewed as police investigate. ST23009671

An alert citizen has prevented the theft of an air conditioner. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas police were called to the 800 block of Talbot Street to investigate the report of two people attempting to remove an air conditioner from the exterior of the building. Upon police arrival, the suspects had left the area. A photo of the suspects in question was provided to police. ST23009717

Approximately $40.00 of food and beverage has been reported stolen. On Monday June 5th, 2023 St. Thomas Police were called to a restaurant on Talbot Street after a patron of the establishment left without paying. Police are reviewing video to identify the individual. ST23009729

Arrested

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Breach of Probation. The 43 year old was arrested and released on an appearance notice. ST23009704

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. Officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Break and Enter and Possession of Schedule 1 substance – Fentanyl.
