Domestic Assault:

On the 27th of March 2023 the St Thomas Police Service attended a central location related to a disturbance between a female and a male. As a result of the investigation a 55 year old St Thomas female was arrested and charged with one count of assault as well as breaches of several previous release orders. The female was transported to the station for court and was later remanded into custody. Incident ST23004808.

Mischief:

The St Thomas Police Service has taken several recent reports of damage and mischief to property at Pinafore Park. The most recent call for service was on the 27th of March when a large quantity of toilet paper was removed from the public washrooms and wrapped around several trees in the park. Members of uniform patrol will be present in the park on targeted patrols in relation to the ongoing issues. Impaired by Drug:

On the 28th of March officers were conducting a RIDE program within the City of St Thomas when the officers involved detected the odour of burnt cannabis while speaking a driver in the RIDE. The driver was further displaying physical signs consistent with cannabis use. A roadside field sobriety test was conducted and grounds were formed that the driver was impaired by drug(s). The driver was arrested and transported to the station and a drug recognition evaluation was conducted. The driver was charged with impaired operation and released on a future court date. Fraud:

On the 27th of March a St Thomas resident reported they were the victim of an online fraud. The victim reported receiving an email that appeared to have been sent by a friend seeking assistance with money. The victim is currently out approximately $400 and the matter is under investigation. Warrant Arrests:

On the 26th of March 2023 a male youth turned himself in at the St Thomas Police Service on an outstanding warrant related to an incident late last week. The youth was released with a future court date – Incident ST23004763.

On the 28th of March 2023 the St Thomas Police Service were contacted to attend a downtown location for an unwanted female that was refusing to leave the establishment. On arrival Police recognized the 43 year old St Thomas female as being wanted on a warrants held by St Thomas Police Service and Aylmer Police Service. The female was arrested and held for court. Stolen Bicycle:

On the 26th of March 2023 a youth reported his bicycle stolen from outside of a local business where he had locked it securely while making some purchases. The bicycle is black with blue lettering and has a rusted chain. Vehicle Entries:

On the 27th of March 2023 a female victim reported her vehicle entered overnight while parked in her driveway in the south end of the City. The vehicle was unlocked and there was no damage however a purse had been taken from inside the car. The St Thomas Police Service would like to remind our community residents not to leave valuables in your vehicle and ensure all doors are locked when left unattended. Incident ST23004795.

On the 27th of March 2023 a resident contacted the St Thomas Police Service to report that an unknown person had attempted to pry open the door of her vehicle while it was parked in the lot of her downtown residence. No entry was gained and nothing was taken. In the early morning hours of the 28th of March 2023 officers on general patrol located a vehicle parked unattended in the middle of a south end roadway. Through investigation it was learned that the vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys on the front seat and unknown persons had either attempted to steal the vehicle or caused it to roll from the driveway into the roadway. A purse with identification and debit cards was also found to be missing. Theft of Gas:

On the 27th of March 2023 an unknown female attended a local gas station and pumped $60.00 worth of fuel into her vehicle before leaving without making any attempts to pay. The vehicle is described as a white Chevrolet Equinox with damage to the passenger side mirror.
