Theft:

We attended a south end residence on Friday the 25th of April to take the report of a stolen E-bike. The owner reported that sometime overnight unknown person(s) stole a black Metakoo e-bike, valued at $900.00. The suspects removed the front tire completely to circumvent where the bike was locked up.  The matter is currently under investigation. Warrant arrests:

On Friday afternoon officers executed a committal warrant on a 49-year-old St Thomas male related to a large back payment owed on family responsibilities. The male was transported directly to the Elgin Middlesex Detention Center on the committal warrant. Incident ST25006770.

On Friday afternoon we assisted the Ontario Provincial Police in arresting a male party currently wanted on a warrant held by the London Police Service. The 43-year-old male was taken into custody and transported back to the station, where London Police attended to transport him to their cells. Incident ST25006773

On Friday afternoon Special Constables located a female party known to them to be warranted on an outstanding warrant. The 48-year-old St Thomas resident was arrested on the strength of the warrant and later released with a future court date. Incident ST25006788.

Fraud:

A St Thomas resident is out approximately $2000.00 after attempting to sell an item on Facebook Marketplace. The victim was chatting with who they thought was a potential buyer online and was tricked into providing some banking information. The incident is under investigation. Incident ST25006793.

Warrant Arrest/Drugs

On Friday evening an officer on general patrol observed a male party known to be wanted on a warrant held by our service. The 47-year-old male was stopped and arrested on the strength of the warrant. Search incident to arrest officer located a substantial amount of cash and various drugs – including close to 140 grams of fentanyl with a street value in excess of $20,000. The male was further charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2 as well as breach of probation. The male was held for weekend video court and remanded into custody by the courts. Incident ST25006801/ST25006804.

Theft/Shoplifting x2:

Police were called to a downtown business regarding a shoplifting incident that occurred on Friday evening. Staff reported a male party, wearing a backpack and a navy-blue jacket, black pants and having a shaved head, attended the store and left without paying for merchandise. Video is being provided and the matter is under investigation. While Police were on scene for the previous incident store staff reported a second incident of theft that occurred on the same date. Staff reported a male and female entered the store together and left without paying for merchandise. Video has been provided and a still image of the suspect is attached. Food Fraud:

On Friday evening a downtown restaurant called us to report that a male and female had left the business without paying for their bill. Video has been obtained of the couple and the matter is under investigation. Incident ST25006805.
