Theft:

On Friday the 1st of November 2024 Police were contacted by employees of the LCBO who reported that a male party had left the store without paying for a bottle of alcohol. The male was described as being in his 30’s, wearing a tan jacket, a white sweater and a green hat and having a beard. Video is being provided and the matter is under investigation. Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle:

On Friday Police were called several times to a south end apartment building related to ongoing arguments between parties associated to the building. After officers left the building after the initial incident – Police received numerous 911 calls regarding a disturbance that had started in the parking lot and spilled out on to the street. On returning to the area officers learned that an involved male had allegedly driven his vehicle at another male in the private lot. As a result of the investigation Police charged an 80-year-old Elgin County resident with Dangerous Operation. The male was later released on an undertaking with a future court date and conditions. Warrant arrest:

On Friday evening Police located an arrested a male known to them to be wanted on two warrants – for breaching an existing conditional sentence order and a 1st instance warrant for a recent assault allegation. The 36-year-old St Thomas resident was arrested and transported to the station to be held for Weekend video court. Incident ST24019912.

Theft:

On Friday evening Police were called to an east end business to take the report of a female that had been in the store earlier in the evening and had left without paying for merchandise. Officers attended and identified the female suspect, known to them, from store CCTV. A warrant is being sought for a 30-year-old female from St Thomas for theft under $5000.00 and breach of probation. Incident ST24019915

R.I.D.E program:

On Friday evening officers on shift conducted a R.I.D.E. program in the city. The St Thomas Police service is happy to announce that no infractions were observed and all drivers checked were sober. We would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant and to arrange alternative methods of transportation as we begin to move towards the holiday season. Incident ST24019924.
