Theft
A tent valued at approximately $130 has been reported stolen. On Monday October 2nd 2023, STPS were called by loss prevention staff at a retail store on Talbot Street who reported an unknown person wearing all black, a white hat and a facemask entered the store, took the tent and left making no attempt to pay. The suspect was seen leaving the area on a bike. This remains under investigation. ST23017578
A neon green wagon has been reported stolen. On Tuesday October 3rd 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate the theft that occurred at an address on Inkerman Street. The ‘Step 2’ wagon is valued at approximately $50. ST23017595
Stolen plates, recovered
On Tuesday October 3rd 2023, St. Thomas police were contacted by a vehicle owner who wished to report that at some point over the weekend the license plates from their truck had been stolen. Through investigation, STPS were made aware that the plates had been recovered by the Ontario Provincial Police. ST23017603
Warrant
A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday October 3rd 2023, officers on community patrol were interacting with the 28 year old who made them aware of an outstanding warrant for their arrest stemming from a shoplifting incident in August. The St. Thomas resident was processed on the outstanding warrant and was released on an appearance notice. ST23017633
Assault
A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday October 3rd 2023, St. Thomas police were called to investigate the report of an assault. Upon arrival, police were able to speak to victim and learned that an altercation had to turned physical. The accused had left the area prior to police arrival but was contacted and made aware of the charge stemming from the incident. The 32 year old later attended police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23017644
Mischief
A 49 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday October 2nd 2023, officers on community patrol witnessed the 49 year old using spray paint to vandalize a sidewalk at an intersection on Talbot Street. On October 3rd 2023, the St. Thomas resident was located and charged with one count Mischief. The 49 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking. A 38 year old St. Thomas resident that was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Mischief, has been arrested. The 38 year old was identified as the person responsible for ripping the security key fob readers from the wall after attending police headquarters at 4:30 a.m. on October 3rd 2023. STPS located the individual who attempted to evade police with a false name. When the 38 year old was made aware of the warrant for Mischief, they fled of foot. After a short foot pursuit, the St. Thomas resident was arrested and additionally charged with one count Obstruct police. The 38 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking. ST23017655/ST23017592
