Sexual Assault and Weapons

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested.

As a result of an investigation the 35 year old has been charged with:

  • Forcible Confinement
  • Sexual Exploitation
  • Assault
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Point firearm

On Tuesday November 7th 2023, the St. Thomas resident was located and arrested at an address on Talbot Street. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and remanded into custody. ST23019584

Failure to comply, trespass by night 

33 year old Cody Ferris has been arrested. At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday November 7th 2023, officers were called to an address north of Talbot Street to investigate the report of a suspicious person in a backyard. A description of the suspect was provided to police. Police attended the area and located Cody Ferris matching the description provided. After a short foot pursuit, Ferris was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be processed. During processing, 33 year old Ferris was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl and has subsequently been charged with:

  • Trespassing at night
  • Possession of a controlled substance – fentanyl
  • Possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine
  • Failure to comply with probation order

Break and Enter, Mischief

28 year old Nolan Nogueira has been arrested. On Wednesday November 8th 2023, at approximately 2:45 a.m. police were notified of a possible break and enter to a business in the 700 block of Talbot Street. STPS attended the area and located Nogueira in front of the business in possession of goods from inside. Officers cleared the area and located an axe, used to gain entry. As a result, Nogueira was arrested and charged with one count Break and enter and one count Possess break and enter instruments.  He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and held for court. In an unrelated call for service, Nogueria has also been identified as the person responsible for mischief at a business in the 500 block of Talbot Street. At approximately 3:30 a.m. police were contacted by a business owner who wish to report damage to the entry way of their storefront. Officers reviewed video of the incident and confirmed Nogueira was responsible. He has been additionally charged with one count Mischief. ST23019691/ST232019694

Warrant Arrests

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday November 7th 2023, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Assault, stemming from an incident over the weekend. The 39 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23019666

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday November 7th 2023, officers were called to an disturbance on Curtis Street. Upon arrival, police learned a verbal disagreement had taken place between two parties, known to each other. While talking with the individuals involved police became aware of an outstanding warrant for Mischief from an incident in April of this year. The 38 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST23019643

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday November 7th 2023, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant for Impaired operation and possession of a controlled substance – opioid, stemming for an incident in May of this year. The 34 year old was processed on the charges and held for a morning court appearance. ST23019670

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 8th 2023, officers on community patrol were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Mischief under $5,000 and Unlawfully in a dwelling from an incident in July of this year. The 35 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and held for a morning court appearance. ST23019693

Theft

An 18 foot utility trailer, valued at approximately $7,500 has been reported stolen. On Tuesday November 7th 2023, St. Thomas police were contacted by the owner of the trailer who reported that sometime over the weekend, the trailer had been stolen. The trailer had approximately $2,000 worth of walking planks used for construction. This remains under investigation. ST23019579

A waterpik shower head has been reported stolen. On Tuesday November 7th 2023, STPS were called to a local retail store to investigate the report of a theft that occurred. Through investigation, it was learned an unknown individual had been in the store for over an hour before selecting the shower head and then fleeing the store. The suspect was identified and the property has been returned. ST23019655

Employment Fraud

A local is resident is out $15,000 after falling victim to a crypto currency, employment fraud. On Monday November 6th, the victim contacted police to report the fraud which occurred via a social media app. Through investigation, police learned the victim had clicked on an employment advertisement which led to further communication about a part time job opportunity with a company posing as a hotel based travel company. The victim was given a set of instructions to begin training for the position which included downloading software to their computer. Through a series of tasks given to the victim and several financial transactions, the victim became of aware of the scam and contacted police. This remains under investigation. ST23019590

Fraud

A St. Thomas resident is out a total of $245. On Tuesday November 7th 2023, the victim called STPS to report losing their wallet and phone, earlier that morning. The victim was able to locate their phone however their wallet with $200 remains outstanding. Later the same date, the victim became aware of an unauthorize debit purchase at a local variety store. Police are reviewing the available video surveillance to identify the suspect.  ST23019618
