Fraud 

A local resident is out approximately $2,000 as the result of a fraudulent real estate transaction. On Tuesday March 26th 2024, the victim contacted police to report the incident. Through investigation, officers learned of an agreement made between the victim and a homeowner. It was learned the reported homeowner didn’t own the home and it was occupied by the actual owner, who was unaware of any such agreement or the parties involved. This remains under investigation. Theft

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 26th 2024, police attended a retail store on Talbot Street to investigate a shoplifting incident from the night before. Upon arrival, police spoke with store staff who provided video surveillance of the incident. Officers identified the individual who was known to police to be on conditions to not attend the store. As a result, the 34 year old has been charged with Theft under $5,000, Failure to Comply with Undertaking and 2 counts Failure to Comply with Probation. A warrant for arrest has been requested. St. Thomas police are currently investigating a theft that occurred from a retail store on Edward Street. On Tuesday March 26th 2024, officers were called to investigate the incident that occurred on March 23rd. It was reported that two unknown individuals entered the store and concealed approximately $3,600 of various cosmetics items before leaving the store, making no attempt to pay. Police are reviewing video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST24004743

Warrant arrest

A 45 year old London resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 26th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from a shoplifting incident in December of 2023. The London resident was processed on the charges and released on an appearance notice. ST24004732

43 year old Sarah Beer has been arrested. On Tuesday March 26th 2024, officers were called to a retail store on Edward Street for the report of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located Beer who was known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for several charges dating back to 2023. Beer was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and held for a morning court appearance. During processing, Beer was additionally charged with one count Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine, one count Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Opioid and three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation.
