Media Release Tuesday March 26th 2024

Mischief

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday March 25th 2024, officers were called to a disturbance between two individuals at a residence on the southside of the city. Upon arrival, police learned a verbal argument between the two had escalated resulting in a gaming console being smashed.  As a result a 34 year old was charged with one count Mischief and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. St. Thomas police are currently investigate an incident of mischief. On Monday March 25th 2024 officers were called by the property maintenance employee of a building on Talbot Street who reported that sometime in the overnight hours, a storage shed had been damaged and entered. Police are reviewing surveillance of the area as they continue to investigate. ST24004658

Theft

Two e-bikes valued at $1,500 have been reported stolen. On Monday March 25th 2024, officers were called by the owner of the bikes who reported that sometime between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, the bikes were stolen from the front porch of a home on the southside of the city. The bikes are a Black Jetson Folding Bike valued at $500 and a Blue Hyper 36V Electric Mountain Bike valued at $1,000. Police are reviewing residential surveillance as they continue to investigate. Warrant arrest

A 38 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday March 25th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for 4 counts of Theft under $5,000, Failure to Comply, Trespass by Night and Assault with a Weapon. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and attended court. The 38 year old was released with a future court date. ST24004666

A 30 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday March 25th 2024, London Police Service contacted STPS to notifying that they had the individual in custody on the strength of our warrant for Assault with a Weapon, Theft under $5000 and Identity Theft stemming from separate incidents in 2023. St. Thomas police attended London and transported the 30 year old to STPS headquarters where they were processed and attended court. The individual was remanded into custody. ST24004686

Assault 

A 61 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday March 25th 2024, officers were called to an address in the center of the city to investigate the report of an assault that had occurred. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim who reported an argument with their spouse had escalated resulting in an assault. The 61 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count of Assault. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24004681

Impaired operation

A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday March 25th 2024, police received a phone call from a concerned citizen in regards to a possible impaired driver. Officers on community patrol located the vehicle and spoke with the driver. Through investigation, police formed grounds to believe the individual was impaired by alcohol. A roadside screening was administered with the driver registering a fail. The 43 year old was charged with one count Impaired Operation and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24004713
