Assault/Criminal Harassment 

A 24 year old British Columbia resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, police were called to the area of St. Catharine Street and Talbot Street to investigate the report of an assault that had occurred. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who provided a description of the individual and the vehicle they had left the area in. A short time later, police located the vehicle and as the result of a traffic stop, the 24 year old accused was arrested. Through investigation, officers learned the individuals were previously in a relationship last had dissolved prior to the accused coming to St. Thomas. The 24 year old has been charged with one count of Assault and one count of Criminal Harassment. They were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25004903

Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a shoplifting incident that occurred at a downtown grocery store on Tuesday. Officers are reviewing available video surveillance as they continue to investigate. ST25004867

A 33 year old London resident has been arrested after police were called to a shoplifting incident in progress. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, officers were called to the 1063 Talbot Street retail area to locate an individual who had just left the store without paying for their items. A description of the individual and the vehicle they left the area in was provided to police, who quickly located the accused leaving another store in the area with additional merchandise they failed to pay for. The 33 year old was arrested and charged with two counts of Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25004881

Mischief

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of damage caused to property at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, officers were called to the hospital after an individual caused damage to several signs on their way out of the building. Police are reviewing available video surveillance of the incident as they continue to investigate. ST25004898

RIDE 

St. Thomas police are pleased to share that of the vehicles stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city on Tuesday evening, no infractions were found. STPS wishes to thank the community for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST25004907

Warrant Arrests 

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from an incident in February where they were charged with Failure to Comply with Probation and two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order. The individual was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25004853

A 45 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 stemming from a shoplifting incident, earlier this month. The 45 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25004857/4758/4863

A 50 year old Burgessville resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, St. Thomas police were notified by Woodstock Police that they had the individual in custody on the strength of an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident dating back to 2021. The individual was processed by Woodstock PS and released with a future court date in St. Thomas. ST25004870

A 39 year old London resident has been arrested. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, St. Thomas police were notified by London Police that they had the individual in custody on the strength of an outstanding warrant with our service for Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident in May of 2024. Officers attended London and transported the 39 year old to STPS Headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25004904

A 60 year old St. Thomas resident, wanted by the Sarnia Police Service has been arrested. The individual had been charged with Criminal Harassment, Harassing Communications and Uttering Threats. On Tuesday March 25th 2025, officers located the individual and transported them to STPS headquarters where they were processed on the charges out of Sarnia and released on an undertaking with a future court date.
