Warrant Arrests

A 40 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Tuesday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter at the Elgin County Courthouse, officers were made aware of an outstanding probation warrant issued after she had failed to attend a court ordered program. The 40 year old was processed and released with a future date to attend court. ST26004973

A 28 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Tuesday evening officers were called to investigate a suspicious person who had entered the backyard of a property on Edward Street. Upon arrival, officers located the accused who was known to them to be wanted by our service after being charged with Assault a Peace Officer and Failure to Comply with Probation following an incident on March 20th. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an appearance notice to attend court. ST26004982/4755

A 50 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. Early this morning, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant stemming from an incident in 2024. Charged with one count of Break and Enter, the accused was transported to police headquarters, processed and held to attend court. ST26005002/24009816

A 39 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. The individual, charged with Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident on March 6th was located by officers during a traffic stop on Edward Street early this morning. He was transported to police headquarters and processed to attend court. ST26005005/3858

Fraud

St. Thomas police are investigating the report of bank fraud. On Tuesday, the victim attended police headquarters to report a loss of over $27,000 following a series of fraudulent transactions from their bank account. It was reported that the transactions occurred after receiving a suspicious phone call from someone posing as a representative of their cell phone company. This remains under investigation. Vehicle Entry – Theft 

A wallet with personal identification, debit and credit cards has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Redan Street. On Tuesday, officers were called to the address to investigate the incident that occurred in the overnight hours. The victim reported their bank card had been used at several locations throughout the city before being cancelled. This remains under investigation. ST26004954

Theft

License plates have been reported stolen from a vehicle on Anderson Avenue. The vehicle had been parked at a local repair shop for the weekend. Staff returning to work for the week noticed the missing plates and contacted police. Video in the area is available and being reviewed. ST26004974

Several items have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. Last night, officers were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown female failing to pay for approximately $100 of merchandise. Video capturing the incident has been provided to police. ST26004986

$335 of general merchandise and groceries have been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. Police were contacted after an unknown male had left the store failing to pay for the items. Video has been provided to police. ST26004997

RIDE

STPS are pleased to share that of the vehicles stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city last night, no infractions were found. Thank you for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST26005006
