Warrants

On Tuesday March 14th 2023, a 31 year old St. Thomas man was arrested at the Elgin County Courthouse on an outstanding warrant for 1 count Theft under $5,000 – Shoplifting. The charge is in relation to an incident from November of 2022 (ST22019323)  where the accused was identified by store employees and video surveillance as the suspect who stole a chainsaw from a local retail store. The man was transported to Police Headquarters where he was held for court and subsequently, released by the courts. ST23004084

On Tuesday March 14th 2023, St. Thomas Police attended the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre to arrest a 38 year old St. Thomas male on our warrants for Fail to Comply, Mischief under $5000, Theft under $5000, Assault, and Utter Threats. The man made his court appearance and was remanded into custody. ST23004100

On Tuesday March 14th 2023, a 51 year old St. Thomas man attended Police Headquarters to turn himself in on a warrant that had been issued earlier that day for 1 count Theft under $5,000 (ST23004018). The man was processed without incident and released with a future court date. ST23004129

Theft

On Tuesday March 14th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to a downtown retail store to investigate a theft.  Through investigation,  Police identified a 32 year old London male who was arrested and charged with 1 count Theft under $5,000. The man was transported to Police Headquarters where he was held for court.  ST23004089

Break and Enter

On Tuesday March 14th 2023, St. Thomas Police were called to investigate a break and enter to a business on the north side of city. Through investigation it was learned the suspect(s) gained entry to the business via an insecure door. Nothing was reported stolen, however, STPS did recover 2 backpacks containing various copper material believed to be left behind by the suspect(s). ST23004075
