Warrant Arrests and Theft

A 41 year old St. Thomas resident, wanted by our service for Theft under $5,000 has been arrested. On Tuesday, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were made aware of the outstanding warrant. The 41 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25012413

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to investigate a shoplifting incident. Just before 3 p.m. we were called to a retail store on Talbot Street for the report of an individual leaving the store without paying for their items. A description was provided to police and the individual was located a short distance away. Through further investigation, officers learned the 39 year old was wanted by our service on several outstanding warrants for shoplifting and theft. The individual has been charged with seven counts of Theft Under $5,000 in relation to separate incidents this year. The 39 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and held to attend court. ST25012434/2436

A Trak Super 400 bike has been reported stolen from an address on Wellington Street. On Tuesday evening, we were contacted by a resident who wish to report the bike had been stolen from their front porch. This remains under investigation. ST25012437
