Impaired by Drug
A 37 year old West Lorne woman has been charged with Impaired Operation after police responded to a report of a driver appearing to nod off behind the wheel Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 3:40 p.m., officers attended a Talbot Street business and located a vehicle running in the parking lot with three occupants inside. The driver and passengers appeared to be asleep.
Through investigation, officers determined the vehicle had entered the parking lot approximately two hours earlier. Drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle, including a used pipe located on the driver’s seat.
The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where a drug recognition evaluation was conducted.
As a result, the 37 year old was charged with one count of Operation while Impaired – Drugs.
The vehicle was towed and impounded. Once processed, the accused was released with a future court date. ST26013382
Narcan Administered by Police
A 31 year old St. Thomas man was transported to hospital after police responded to an unconscious person Tuesday night.
At approximately 11 p.m., officers were flagged down by a passerby regarding a man lying behind a Talbot Street address.
Officers located the man unresponsive with shallow breathing and a low pulse. He did not respond to verbal or physical attempts to wake him.
Police administered two doses of Narcan before the man regained consciousness. Paramedics attended and transported him to hospital for further assessment. ST26013408
Mischief Investigations
STPS responded to three separate reports of property damage on Tuesday:
- At approximately 9 a.m., officers attended a business on Edward Street after an employee discovered a hole had been cut in the exterior fence surrounding a secured compound. The damage is believed to have occurred overnight. ST26013343
- At approximately 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a Wellington Street residence after a man reportedly punched and broke a window in the front door. A 42 year old St. Thomas man was located nearby, arrested and charged with one count of Mischief. ST26013390
- At approximately 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of Balaclava Street and Redan Street following a dispute between two individuals. Through investigation, police learned that a piece of concrete had been thrown at a vehicle, causing damage. No injuries were reported. Theft Investigations
Police are investigating three separate thefts reported on Tuesday:
- At approximately 1:10 p.m., officers responded to a Talbot Street retail store after a man reportedly left with two cases of beer without making any attempt to pay. The man was last seen walking northbound on Talbot Street. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him. ST26013363
- At approximately 6:40 p.m., police received a report that a woman had stolen merchandise from a thrift store on Kains Street. The woman had left the area before police were contacted. ST26013386
- At approximately 7:30 p.m., police received a report that an electric lawn mower and two batteries had been stolen from the front lawn of a Hammond Street residence. The items, valued at approximately $200, were taken between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. ST26013389
Warrant Arrests
A 34 year old man wanted by the St. Thomas Police Service was taken into custody by London Police. STPS officers attended London and returned the man to St. Thomas, where he was transported to court for processing. ST26013361
At approximately 11 p.m., officers located a 19 year old woman wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Assault. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26013412/8411
