Disqualified Driver 

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged. As the result of a traffic stop on Tuesday January 30th 2024, officers learned the driver was prohibited from driving and a suspended driver. The 32 year old was served a summons and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST24001419

Theft 

An excavator has been damaged and a chainsaw has been stolen in an incident reported to police on Tuesday January 30th 2024.  Just before 9 a.m. officers were called to a job site in the north end of the city to investigate the report. Upon arrival, it was learned an unknown person had smashed the window to the excavator and stole the chainsaw sometime in the overnight hours. This remains under investigation. ST24001420

Approximately $60 in merchandise has been reported stolen from a retail store on Talbot Street. On Tuesday January 30th 2024, officers were called to the store to investigate the incident that occurred just before 5 p.m. STPS learned that an unknown person entered the store, concealed the items and left the store, failing to pay. CCTV is being reviewed as officers continue to investigate. ST24001442

Vehicle entry

Several tools including a ratchet set and sawzall blades have been reported stolen to police. On Tuesday January 30th 2024, STPS were called by a vehicle owner who reported that sometime in the overnight hours their vehicle, parked in a parking lot on the southside of the city had been entered and the various tools had been stolen. This remains under investigation. ST24001424

Warrant arrest

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday January 30th 2024, STPS was contacted by London Police Service who had the individual in custody on the strength of an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 stemming from an incident in March of 2023. LPS attended St. Thomas police headquarters and custody was exchanged. The 34 year old was processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24001429

Recovered stolen vehicle

A vehicle reported stolen to police on Tuesday January 30th 2024, has been recovered. The truck, belonging to a construction company was located outside of the city limits by OPP. The construction company was contacted and retrieved their vehicle. ST24001431
