Disturbance at Hospital
A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged after an ongoing investigation into a disturbance at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital (STEGH), last week. On Monday February 16th 2025, police were called to the Emergency Department to assist with an individual who had become increasingly agitated and aggressive toward staff and security. As a resulted of the investigation, the 36 year old has been charged with Cause a Disturbance. ST25002652
Refuse Breath Sample
A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called by a concerned citizen, Tuesday evening. Just after 5 p.m. police were called to attend an address on the northside of the city to investigate the report of a possible impaired driver. Police attended the area and located the vehicle and the individual of concern. Through investigation, officers observed the 46 year old to be showing signs of impairment and a roadside screening demand was made. The individual refused to provide a sample and was subsequently charged with one count of Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand, a charge that carries the same penalty as Impaired Operation. The 46 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. The vehicle was impounded and their license suspended. ST25003110
Theft
St. Thomas police are currently investigating a theft that occurred from a grocery store on Talbot Street. On Tuesday February 25th 2025, officers were called to the store after an unknown person failed to pay for approximately $200 of meat. STPS are looking to identify the individual in the photo below. Warrant Arrests
A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday February 25th 2025, officers at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Breach of Probation. The 40 year old was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25003101

On Tuesday February 25th 2025, officers at the Elgin County Court House were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they were made aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Order. A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a noise complaint, on Tuesday. While dealing with individuals involved, officer became aware of an outstanding warrant for the 29 year old in relation to an incident in January where they had been charged with Mischief. Breach of Probation
A 33 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Breach of Probation after police were called to investigate an unwanted person. On Tuesday February 25th 2025, police were called to an address on the southside of the city for the report of the individual causing a disturbance at an address they are on conditions to not attend. The individual had left the area prior to police arrival. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25003124
