Fail to stop

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a vehicle and its driver that failed to stop for police. On Sunday February 18th 2024, officers on community patrol attempted to stop a black Lincoln pickup truck after the license plates returned as being associated to an individual who is a suspended driver. Officers activated their emergency lights to indicate a traffic stop when the suspect vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed. This remains under investigation. ST24002559

Stolen vehicle, fail to stop 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the theft of a motor vehicle. On Wednesday February 21st 2024, police were called to investigate the report of a group of individuals who were tampering with a vehicle parked at an west end address. While on route to the location of concern, police learned the individuals had gained entry to the vehicle and had left the area. STPS were able to located the vehicle in question and an attempt was made to initiate a traffic stop when the vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed. This remains under investigation. Warrant arrests 

A 40 year old Aylmer resident has been arrested. On Monday February 19th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Trafficking in Stolen Goods after a fraud investigation that began in December of 2023. The Aylmer resident was processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24002615

A 23 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday February 20th, 2024 officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime after being identified as one of the suspects responsible for a vehicle entry where a wallet was stolen and the personal credit cards and bank cards of the owner were used. The 23 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24002653/ST24001970

A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday February 20th 2024, STPS were called to a downtown location for the report on an unwanted person. Upon arrival, police located the 31 year old known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime after being identified as the second suspect responsible for a vehicle entry where a wallet was stolen and the personal credit cards and bank cards of the owner were used. The 31 year old was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST4002663/ST24001970

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday February 20th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual know to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for stealing a bottle of liquor valued at over $100 from a retail store on Talbot Street. The St. Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters where they were processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24002660

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday February 20th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service for Fraud under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtain by Crime after being identified as one of the parties responsible for a break and enter incident in December of 2023. The 39 year old was processed on the charges and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24002662/ST23022616

Mischief

A broken windshield of a transport truck and excavator has been reported to police. On Tuesday February 20th 2024, STPS was contacted by the owner of a property in a commercial business area on the north side of the city who wished to report that sometime over the last 48 hours the vehicles on the property had been damaged. This remains under investigation. ST24002654

A broken windshield of a vehicle that was parked at an west end address has been reported to police. On Tuesday February 20th 2024, STPS was contacted by the vehicle owner who reported that sometime in the overnight hours, the vehicle had been damaged. This remains under investigation. ST24002649

Theft

St. Thomas police are looking to identify the individual in the photo below after being called to a a retail store on Edward Street to investigate a theft that had occurred. On Tuesday February 20th 2024, officers were called to the store after an unknown person had left with a cart full of merchandise, making no attempt to pay.  If you recognize the individual in the photo, please contact police at 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
