Intimate Partner Violence – Assault with a Weapon 

A 36 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with several offences after a 911 call to police on Tuesday morning. At 7:30 a.m. officers attended an address on the northside of the city for the report of an assault that had occurred. Through investigation, officers learned the victim had been assaulted by their partner. During the altercation, a teenager had also been assaulted sustaining minor injury. It was reported that the accused had left in the victims car, prior to police arrival. As a result, the 36 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with two counts of Assault with a Weapon, one count of Possession of a Prohibited Device and one count of Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST25021917

Fraud

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of credit card fraud. On Tuesday, a local resident attended police headquarters to report they had received paperwork for multiple credit cards opened in their name, showing various charges totaling more than $5,000. This remains under investigation. ST25021949

Theft

Separate incidents of theft have been report to police. On Tuesday, officers were called to retail store on Talbot Street to investigate the incidents. It was reported that a bottle of liquor had been stolen by an unknown man around 1 p.m. and a second unknown man attended the store around 8 p.m. and also failed to pay for a bottle of liquor.
