Warrant Arrests 

A 32 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday December 19th 2023, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service dating back to March of 2022. The 32 year had been charged with one count of Aggravated Assault after a disturbance downtown. The St. Thomas resident was processed on the charges and transported to the Elgin County Courthouse to attend court. ST23022204

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Tuesday December 19th 2023, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for one count Failure to Comply. The 35 year old was processed by court officers. ST23022217

Vehicle Entry

A quantity of cash and personal bank card have been reported stolen. On Tuesday December 19th 2023, officers were called to investigate a vehicle entry that occurred on Fifth Avenue. Through investigation, officers learned that sometime in the overnight hours of the 18th, an unknown person entered the vehicle and took the cash and cards. This remains under investigation. Fraud

St. Thomas police are currently investigating a fraud. On Tuesday December 19th 2023, police were contacted by a victim who reports that after having their wallet stolen earlier this year, they had now become a victim of identity theft and have had over $5,000 removed from their bank accounts. This remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Branch of STPS. ST23022230
