Mischief Downtown – Graffiti Suspect Arrested 

A 46 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after being identified as the individual responsible for graffiti damage caused to businesses in the 400 block of Talbot Street, earlier this week. Through investigation and review of video surveillance we identified the person as a 46 year old St. Thomas resident. Last night, we located the individual who has been charged with Mischief and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. The St. Thomas resident was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25006168/6085

Warrant Arrests 

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after officers were called to a disturbance downtown on Tuesday morning. Just before 10 a.m. we attended the area of St. Catharine Street and Princess Avenue to investigate the report of two individuals engaging in an argument. One of the parties involved was known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident from April 7th. The 34 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25006136

While dealing with a 22 year old St. Thomas resident at the Elgin County Courthouse, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Failure to Comply with Probation Order. The individual was processed and later released by the courts. ST25006139

A 34 year old Elgin County resident, currently in custody at the Elgin Middlesex Detention Centre, has been additionally charged. On April 15th, we attended EMDC to process a warrant that had been issued after the 34 year old was identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting incident dating back to June of 2024. The individual was processed on two counts of Theft under $5,000 and remains in custody on unrelated matters. ST25006142

While on community patrol Tuesday afternoon, we located and arrested a 29 year old St. Thomas resident who was wanted by our service for Assault and Breach of Probation stemming from incidents in March. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed to attend court and later released by the courts. ST25006161
