Intimate Partner Violence
A 36 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after we were called to a disturbance in a southside parking lot, last night. Upon arrival, officers located the man and his girlfriend who had been involved in an altercation after leaving a restaurant near by. Through investigation and review of available CCTV, the 36 year old accused was charged with one count of Assault. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25020252
While investigating the altercation, officers learned an employee of the restaurant had been assaulted by the girlfriend when asked to the leave the restaurant, prior to police arrival. This incident remains under investigation. ST25020253
Mischief
Two ceramic planters at a business in the 500 block of Talbot Street have been reported damaged. On Monday, the business owner contacted to police to report the damage that occurred over the weekend. CCTV is available and being provided to police. ST25020216
Break and Enter InvestigationsĀ
St. Thomas Police are investigating the report of a residential property on Kains Street being entered. On Monday, the property manager contacted police to report that fencing around the property had been cut at some point over the weekend. While on site, the manager reported an additional incident involving the theft of a purse belonging to a resident at the address. Both incidents remain under investigation. ST25020207/20208
A storage unit at an apartment building has been reported entered. On Monday, officers attended the address to investigate the report of an unknown individual entering the unit and stealing several parts of a bicycle. CCTV is available and being provided to police. ST25020210
Vehicle Entry
A vehicle parked at an address on Elizabeth Street has been reported entered. On Monday, the owner of the vehicle contacted police to report their medication and a tire pump had been stolen. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST25020233
Theft
A 35 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday afternoon, we attended a retail store on Talbot Street after loss prevention staff called to report the woman had left the store without paying for several items. Upon arrival, officers located the woman nearby with the merchandise. As a result, she was charged with one count of Theft under $5,000 and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25020234
On Monday night, police were called back to the retail store after staff reported the woman had returned and again left the store, failing to pay for several items. Officers attended but could not located the accused. As a result, she has been charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Undertaking. A warrant for arrest has been requested. Breach of Probation
A 33 year old St. Thomas man has been charged after police were called to a disturbance on Chestnut Street, Monday night. Officers attended an address to investigate the report of an altercation between several people. Upon arrival, police learned the argument had started after the accused had stolen a cell phone from one of the individuals on Sunday. Through further investigation, officers learned the accused is currently bound by a probation order to not communicate with the parties involved. As a result, he has been charged with one count of Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Order. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25020261
