Warrant Arrests
A 37 year old Aylmer man charged with several offences following an incident in the city on Friday night, has been arrested. On Monday, while on an unrelated call for service, the Elgin OPP located the individual who had been charged with Assault with a Weapon, two counts of Uttering Threats to Cause Death, Theft Under $5,000, three counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order and four counts of Fail to Comply with Probation. The 37 year old was transported to St. Thomas where he was processed for a court appearance and was subsequently remanded into custody. ST26008342/8535
An 18 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, the individual attended police headquarters to himself in on an outstanding warrant for Assault. The accused had been charged following an investigation into a disturbance between known parties on the weekend. Once processed, he was released on an undertaking with a future court date. While being processed to attend court at the Elgin County Courthouse, a 34 year old St. Thomas man was additionally charged. Officers at the courts were made aware of an outstanding warrant held by the Sarnia Police Service. The individual was processed on behalf of SPS and later released. ST26008517
Mischief
A police vehicle has been damaged. On Monday the Community Resource Unit van usually parked in the 500 block of Talbot Street while Special Constables are downtown, had the accessories of the van tampered with and damaged. CCTV in the area is being reviewed. ST26008565
Vehicle Entry
A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle. On Monday, the owner of the vehicle called police to report that at some point in the overnight hours their vehicle, parked in the laneway of a southside residence had been entered and their wallet stolen. The victim’s debit and credit cards had been used at several locations in the city. This remains under investigation. ST26008504
