Assault
A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a family dispute. On Monday night, we attended an address on the northside of the city to investigate the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers learned an argument had escalated resulting in a physical altercation between the accused and a family member. The 39 year old was arrested and charged with one count of Assault and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25010349
Warrant Arrest
A 40 year old St. Thomas resident wanted by our service for two counts of Breach of Recognizance and two counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order, has been arrested. On Monday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on the outstanding warrant after they had been charged in relation to an incident last week. The 40 year old was processed to attend court and was released. ST25010299
Failure to Comply
A 36 year old London resident has been charged with two counts of Disobeying Court Order after we were contacted in regards to an unwanted person. On Monday morning, we attended an address on the southside of the city after being notified that the 36 year old had attended an address they are on conditions to not attend. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25010306
A 48 year old London resident, charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking after communicating with an individual they are currently on release conditions to not communicate with, has been arrested. Officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became of the outstanding warrant that had been issued on Monday. The 48 year old was processed, made a court appearance and was released by the courts. ST25010319/0377
Fraud Investigation
A local resident is out $30,000 after falling victim to a scam. On Monday, the individual contacted police to report they had fallen victim to a crypto-currency scam. The investigation has been turned over to our Criminal Investigation Branch. ST25010307
Theft
Two tool boxes and various tools have been reported stolen from a locked vehicle. On Monday, we were contacted by an employee of the City who returned to their work trucked, parked at the Library for the weekend and found it damaged, entered and the property gone. We are reviewing the available CCTV in the area as we continue to investigate. ST25010289
