Impaired Operation

A 27 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a collision on the northside of the city last night. Just before 11:30 p.m. we were called to attend an address on Confederation Drive to investigate the report of a vehicle hitting a parked car and leaving the area. Attending officers were informed the vehicle had returned to the area and was occupied. Police located the vehicle in question and its occupants. While speaking with the driver, identified as the 27 year old accused, officers were concerned he was impaired. An alcohol screening device was administered resulting in a fail. The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters where additional breath samples confirmed the accused to be impaired with readings of 169 mg/100ml and 159mg/100ml.  He was subsequently charged with one count of Operating while Impaired Plus 80, a 90 day license suspension was issued and the vehicle was towed and impounded. Break and Enter – Assault with a Weapon

A 30 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged after police were called to a disturbance at an address on Chestnut Street. Early this morning, officers were called to an apartment building on Chestnut Street after receiving a 911 call from a tenant at the address. The individual called to report that they had been assaulted by the 30 year old accused after she had forced her way into the apartment. Through investigation it was learned the victim had been hit multiple times with a flashlight causing injury to their head and face. As a result, the 30 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged with one count of Break and Enter and one count of Assault with a Weapon. A warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26000247

Assault 

A 65 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after we were called to a disturbance at a restaurant on Talbot Street. At 12 noon, officers were called to attend the location in relation to an altercation between customers. Upon arrival, police learned a verbal disagreement between two individuals had escalated, resulting in the accused assaulting the 68 year old victim. The 65 year old had left the area prior to police arrival but was located a short distance away and taken into custody. Charged with one count of Assault, he was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST26000208

Drug Charges 

A 54 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday afternoon, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with the London Police Service. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where a search incident to arrest found the man to be in possession of a large quantity of suspected Oxycodone. As a result, he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused was processed and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. Failure to Comply – Warrant Arrest 

A 26 year old Toronto man, bound by a curfew and to be residing at an address in St. Thomas has been arrested. On Tuesday morning, the individual attended policed headquarters to turn himself after being notified he had been charged with Failure to Comply with Recognizance after police confirmed he had left the city on Monday. Warrant Arrests

A 27 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with the London Police Service. The individual was transported to St. Thomas police headquarters where LPS attended to assume custody. ST26000210

A 58 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday evening while on an unrelated called for service, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding probation warrant. The accused was processed and released on an appearance notice. ST26000242

Theft 

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a stolen license plate. On Monday, we were called in regards to the theft that occurred in the overnight hours from an automotive business on the northside of the city. This remains under investigation. ST26000203

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a theft that occurred from a retail store on Talbot Street on January 3rd. It was reported that two unknown females and an unknown male attended the store and failed to pay for 15 bottles of liquor valued at over $1,000. Video of the incident and the parties involved is being provided to police as this remains under investigation. ST26000224

Failure to Comply

A 35 year old St. Thomas woman has been charged after failing to attend her court ordered probation program. On Monday, police were notified by probation that the individual had failed to attend. A warrant for her arrest has been requested. ST26000206
