Sexual Assault Investigation
A St. Thomas resident has been charged following a sexual assault investigation. On Monday, the victim attended police headquarters to report the incident. Through investigation, the accused has been charged with one count of Sexual Assault, Assault and Extortion. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST26002721
Failure to Comply
A 35 year old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested. On Monday while conducting a traffic stop, officers identified the driver as the accused who is currently on conditions to not operate a motor vehicle. The individual was charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order and transported to police headquarters to be processed. He was later released on an appearance notice with a future court date. Warrant Arrest
A 48 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday evening, the Waterloo Regional Police Service contacted us to report that they had the individual in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant. The 48 year old had been charged with Failure to Comply with Probation after failing to attend their court ordered program in 2024. Custody was transferred and the accused was transported to STPS Headquarters where he was processed and held to attend court. ST26002749//24018942
Vehicle Entry
A vehicle parked at an address on Churchill Crescent has been reported entered. On Monday, police were called to investigate the report of a work truck being entered and a company issued cell phone being stolen. No damage to the vehicle was reported. ST26002692
Fraud
A local resident is out $2,000 following a gift card scam. On Monday, the victim contacted police to report the incident that involved receiving a phone call from an individual claiming to be from the Amazon Fraud Department, requiring the gift cards be purchased and the pins provided to unlock their account after a fraudulent charge had been flagged.
