Warrant Arrests
A 19 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after being charged with Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident on December 3rd. On Monday, while the individual was in custody for an unrelated matter, officers were made aware of the outstanding warrant. A 30 year old Oxford County man has been arrested. On Monday night, we were contacted by Lambton OPP who had the individual in their custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant for Theft over $5,000, Theft under $5,000, Mischief and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime in relation to a break and enter investigation and stolen vehicle report dating back to 2021. The accused was transported to St. Thomas police headquarters where he was processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25022290/ST21013798
Theft – Failure to Comply
A 42 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, officers on community patrol located the man who had been charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation after being identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting incident from December 3rd. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25022250/22025
Fraud Investigation
Local residents are out a significant amount of money after learning their banks accounts had been compromised. On Monday, it was reported that they were notified of the activity through several alerts from their financial institution. When accessing their accounts, the victims found several fraudulent transactions to an unknown account number. This remains under investigation. ST25022251
Disqualified Driver
A 64 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday evening as the result of traffic stop for speeding, officers learned the driver was currently prohibited from driving due to an impaired driving charge dating back to 2022. As a result, he was charged with Operation while Prohibited and Speeding 1 – 49 km/h over posted limit. The accused was processed and released on an appearance notice to attend court.
