Break and Enter Investigation
Approximately $5,000 of property has been reported stolen from a business on Wellington Street. On Monday, we were called to investigate the report of a break and enter that occurred at some point over the weekend. Through investigation, officers learned the office of the business had been entered and the several electronics and a quantity of cash had been stolen. CCTV cameras on the property had been damaged and deactivated. Additional video in the area is being provided to police as this remains under investigation. ST25021866
Warrant Arrests
A 42 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn himself in after being charged with Harassment, stemming from an unwanted communication investigation. He was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25021873
A 40 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday evening, we were called downtown for the report of an unwanted person. Upon arrival, officers located the individual who was known to them to be wanted by our service for Uttering Threats and Assault a Peace Officer in relation to an incident in August. She was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST25021893/15527
A 41 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. Early Tuesday morning, officers on community patrol located the individual who had been charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order last week, after attending an address he is on conditions to not attend. He was arrested, processed and released with a date to attend court. ST25021915/21150
Theft
A bike trailer has been reported stolen from an address on Balaclava Street. Early this morning, officers were called to the address after the the owner called to report the trailer, used a stroller that attaches to a bike had been stolen. This remains under investigation. ST25021910
A pair jeans has been reported stolen from a vehicle. On Monday, police were called to the parking lot at the Elgin Centre to investigate the report of a vehicle being entered and the jeans stolen. This remains under investigation. ST25021865
A 19 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after being identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting incident. On Monday, just before noon, we were called to a retail store on Talbot Street to investigate the report of an unknown person failing to pay for a total of $400 of clothing. Video of the incident was provided to police who identified the man as the 19 year old accused. Early this morning, officers located the individual and transported him to police headquarters. He has been charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation and Theft under $5,000. While being processed, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for the 19 year old who had been charged with Failure to Comply with Probation and Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident on November 21st. He was processed on all charges and released on an undertaking with future court date. ST25021867/21909/21115
