Warrant Arrests
A 66 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, the Niagara Regional Police Service contacted STPS to report that they had the individual in custody on the strength of our outstanding warrant for Robbery dating back to an investigation from 2023. NRPS transported the accused to St. Thomas police headquarters where he was processed to attend court and was subsequently remanded into custody. ST25022638/ST23014583
A 26 year old St. Thomas man charged with Mischief following an incident on Sunday, has been arrested. On Monday, the individual attended police headquarters to turn himself in on the outstanding warrant. He was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25022670/22596
A 36 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Tuesday December 16th, she attended police headquarters to turn herself in on an outstanding probation warrant. She had been charged after failing to attend a court ordered program. She was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25022683
Counterfeit Money
A counterfeit bill has been turned over to police. On Monday, following an attempt to make a regular business deposit, the owner of a local business was made aware that one of the bills in their deposit was counterfeit. The business owner brought the bill to STPS HQ and reported the incident. This remains under investigation. ST25022644
Mischief
A 29 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after police were called to investigate the report of damage caused to an exterior HVAC unit on Elgin Street. Through investigation, officers identified two parties responsible for the damage and the theft of copper wire. The 29 year old was located and transported to police headquarters where he was charged with Mischief over $5,000, Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Order. He was processed and held for a morning court appearance. A warrant for the arrest of the other individual, identified as a 30 year old St. Thomas man has been requested. ST25022633
Theft
A 29 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Monday, we were called to a downtown retail store for the report of the individual attempting to steal a glass cabinet with several utility knives it in. The accused was stopped by the business owner and left the area on foot. Officer located the man a short distance away and took him into custody. He was transported to police headquarters and charged with Mischief under $5,000, Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation Order. The 29 year old was processed to attend court and was subsequently released by the courts with a future court date. ST25022636
$100 worth of lottery tickets have been reported stolen from a downtown retail store. On Monday afternoon, officers were called to the address to investigate the report of two unknown individuals stealing the tickets. CCTV is available and has been provided to police. ST25022674
A vacuum, valued at $225 has been reported stolen from a downtown retail store. On Monday, officers were called to the store to investigate the report of an unknown man failing to pay for the item. Video of the incident has been provided to police. This remains under investigation. ST25022664
$25 worth of merchandise has been reported stolen from a convenience store on Talbot Street. On Monday, officers attended the address for the report of a 29 year old St. Thomas man failing to pay for the item. Officers located the accused a short distance away and retrieved the stolen item.
