Assault – Intimate Partner Violence 

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after we were called to a disturbance at an apartment building on Talbot Street, last night. Just after 6 p.m. we were called to the area to investigate the report of a verbal argument escalating, resulting in a physical assault. Through investigation, officers formed grounds to charged the 37 year old accused with one count of Assault. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. The victim sustained minor injuries. ST25014357

Unlawfully in a Dwelling – Failure to Comply 

A 40 year old Oakville resident has been arrested after we were called to an address on the southside of St. Thomas, Monday morning. Neighbours had called police to report an unwanted person. Through investigation, officers learned the homeowner was away and a former partner had entered the address. Upon arrival, the accused was located inside and taken into custody. The individual was charged with one count of Unlawfully in a Dwelling and two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation after officers were made aware of release conditions the individual is currently under. The 40 year old was processed at police headquarters and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25014330

Warrant Arrests 

A 51 year old London resident has been arrested. On Monday while dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were made aware of an outstanding warrant for Transportation Fraud stemming from an incident in January. The individual was processed to make a court appearance and was remanded into custody. ST25014324/ST25001814

A 41 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Monday, while on an unrelated call for service, officers located the individual who had been charged with Theft under $5,000 after an investigation at commercial property on the northside of the city in July. The 41 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25012948/14336

Theft

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of a theft from a jobsite on Chestnut Street. On Monday, upon returning to the area from the weekend, an employee called to report a storage unit had been entered and several lasers and hand tools had been stolen. This remains under investigation. ST25014319

A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible for shoplifting at a retail store on Talbot Street. $54.00 of merchandise had been stolen from the store over the weekend. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25014321

A 22 year old St. Thomas resident has been charged with Theft under $5,000 and Failure to Comply with Probation after being identified as the person responsible for stealing a cell phone from an apartment on Talbot Street, Monday afternoon. A warrant for arrest has been requested. ST25014362

Fraud Investigation

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of fraud. On Monday, the victim contacted police to report that a cell phone purchased off of Marketplace had previously been reported stolen. This remains under investigation. ST25014365

Mischief – Looking to Identify 

St. Thomas police are looking for assistance in identifying the individual in the photos below. On Monday, we attended an address on Curtis Street after a residential camera captured the unknown person spray painting the letter “B” on a fence. If you recognize the person in the photos, please contact police at 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. This remains under investigation. ST25014308
