Assault Investigation
St. Thomas police are investigating an assault that occurred on Monday evening. At 7:30 p.m., police responded to Jonas Park after a person was sprayed in the face with animal deterrent spray. Officers learned that two males riding bicycles approached a group in the park before one of the males discharged the spray. Both suspects left the area before police arrived. Minor injuries were sustained. CCTV in the area is being reviewed. ST26015230
Arrests Made in Shoplifting Investigation
A 19 year old London woman and a 47 year old London man have been arrested following an investigation into separate incidents of theft. On August 3rd, police responded to the report of a theft in progress at retail store on Talbot Street. A male and female were captured on video leaving the store with a cart containing $300 of unpaid merchandise. The individuals left the area in a vehicle before police arrived. On August 8th, police were contacted after the same individuals were involved in a second theft from the store. In this incident, the pair failed to pay for $580 of merchandise.
Through a review of video surveillance and further investigation, officers identified both suspects. On August 10th, the individuals attended police headquarters and turned themselves in. Charged with Theft under $5,000, both were released on undertakings with future court dates. ST26015287/15177/14875
Vehicle Entries
Vehicle documents and personal items have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Edward Street. ST26015282
A wallet has been reported stolen from a vehicle on Fourth Avenue. An attempt to use the bank card alerted the owner to the theft. ST26015312
Wireless headphones and prescription glasses have been reported stolen from a vehicle parked at an address on Elizabeth Street. ST26015334

Theft
A 46 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested following the report of a vehicle entry. On Monday, a St. Thomas resident attended police headquarters to report their vehicle had been entered and several items had been stolen. A video was provided to police who identified the individual as the 46 year old accused. Charged with Theft under $5,000 and one count of Mischief, he was arrested early this morning, transported to police headquarters and held to attend court. ST26015325
STPS are investigating a theft the occurred on Monday evening. A multi-tiered plant stand had been removed from the garden centre of a business on Talbot Street. Officers were called to the area after a concerned citizen observed an individual pushing the stand away from area. This remains under investigation. ST26015338
Warrant Arrests
A 32 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. Early Monday morning, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order after not attending a court ordered program in July. Once processed, he was released on an appearance notice. ST26015278
A 35 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Monday evening, while dealing with the individual on an unrelated call for service, officers were made aware of an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She had been charged with Theft under $5,000 and two counts of Failure to Comply with Probation after being identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting investigation from July. The 35 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed and held for court. ST26015330
