Utter Threats, Failure to Comply
A 29 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after several incidents on Wednesday. As the result of theft reported to police on Tuesday, the 29 year old was charged with Theft under$5,000, arrested and transported to police headquarters. The individual was processed and released on conditions to not communicate with the person involved in the reported theft. ST25016413
Shortly after being released, we received a call for service involving the individual. It was reported the 29 year old had threatened to harm the person he was on release conditions to not communicate with. Officers attended an address on Talbot Street and located the individual who was charged with Failure to Comply with Undertaking and Uttering Threats. The individual was transported to police headquarters to be processed. ST25016420
While in custody, we were contacted by the owner of a bar downtown who wished to report the 29 year old had refused to pay an outstanding tab of $840 from September 9th. The 29 year old was additionally charged with one count of Food Fraud and held for a morning court appearance. ST25016452
Assault
St. Thomas police are currently investigating an assault that occurred, early Wednesday morning. At 5:30 a.m. officers attended an address on Talbot Street after EMS called to report they were treating an individual for an injury as the result of an apparent assault. The victim was transported to hospital for medical treatment. The assault remains under investigation. ST25016378
Warrant Arrests
While on an unrelated call for service Wednesday morning, officers located a 34 year old St. Thomas resident known to them to be wanted on outstanding warrants with our service for seven counts of Theft under $5,000 and one count of Arson – Damage to property, stemming several shoplifting incidents throughout the summer. The 34 year old was arrested, processed to attend court and later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25016379
A 43 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on outstanding warrants for four counts of Failure to Comply with Probation, two counts of Theft under $5,000, two counts of Break and Enter, Mischief and Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon stemming from separate incidents in June and July. The 43 year old was transported to police headquarters, processed to attend court and later released by the courts. ST25016411
Theft Investigations
A black, green and white Giant GT bike, valued at $1,000 has been reported stolen. On Wednesday evening, the owner of the bike locked it to a bike rack at the Elgin Centre on Wellington Street while they were attending the gym. When done, they return to find the lock had been cut and their bike gone. CCTV is being reviewed as this remains under investigation. ST25016445
A package valued at $200 has been reported stolen a from an apartment on Talbot Street. On Wednesday, we were contacted by the building manager who wished to report CCTV captured an unknown individual enter the mailroom of the building and take the package. Video is being provided to police in an attempt to identify the person. ST25016423
A 28 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after being identified as the person responsible for stealing a backpack containing various electronics. The theft was reported to police on Sunday and occurred at an address on Princess Avenue. Video of the incident was reviewed and confirmed the 28 year old as the person responsible. On Wednesday, officers on community patrol located the individual who was charged with Theft under $5,000, transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. A food subscription delivery box, valued at $250 has been reported stolen from an address on Inkerman Street. On Wednesday, we were contacted by a homeowner who wished to report their camera captured two unknown individuals attend the porch of the home and take the box. Vehicle Entry
A purple ‘footjoy’ sweatshirt valued at $150 has been reported stolen from a vehicle parked on Erie Street. No damage to the vehicle was observed. This remains under investigation. ST25016441
