Warrant Arrest

A 72 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday November 6th 2024, officers at the Elgin County Courthouse were dealing with the individual on an unrelated matter when they became aware of an outstanding warrant with our service for failing to comply with their release order. The 72 year old was processed and released by the courts. On the same date, the individual was additionally charged with one count of Criminal Harassment after police were notified of them attending an address they are on conditions to not attend. Officers located the individual and transported them to police headquarters where they have been processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST24020209/0227

Mischief

A 37 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested after police were called to a disturbance on Talbot Street. On Wednesday November 6th 2024, police attended a parking lot in the 1000 block of Talbot Street, where they learned a verbal altercation between two individuals not known to each other had escalated resulting in one of the individuals causing damage to a vehicle. The 37 year old St. Thomas resident was charged with one count of Mischief and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. Fraud

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the report of an online fraud. On Wednesday November 6th 2024, the victim attended police headquarters to report that while selling an item online, a link to complete the transaction was used resulting access to the victim’s bank account and fraudulent transactions occurring.
