Break and Enter Investigation Leads to Arrests

Two St. Thomas teens have been arrested and charged following an investigation into several break and enter incidents that occurred at an east end business in October. The teens, age 13 and 17 were identified as the parties responsible in the incidents reported to police. The 13 year old has been charged with three counts of Break and Enter and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The 17 year old has been charged with three counts of Break and Enter, two counts of  Mischief under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. Mischief

A 44 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested and charged with several offences after police responded to the report of an unwanted person threatening the residents at an address on Alma Street, early Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, officers located the accused who was charged with one count of Uttering Threats. The 44 year old was known to police to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Theft under $5,000 in relation to a shoplifting incident in October. The man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and additionally charged with a total of nine counts of Mischief after causing damage to multiple vehicles in the Alma Street area. In all incidents, the vehicles had been damaged with a small log, used as a bat to break the windows of the vehicles. The individual was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25020311

Intimate Partner Violence – Assault Cause Bodily Harm 

A 21 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested after an investigation into the report of intimate partner violence. On Wednesday, police were called to investigate an incident that had occurred the day previous between partners. Through investigation, officers learned the victim had sustained serious injury as the result of a physical assault. As a result of the investigation, the 21 year old was notified that he had been charged with two counts of Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He attended police headquarters to turn himself in on the charges and was later released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25020325

Fraud

St. Thomas police are currently investigating the use of counterfeit money. On Wednesday, police were called to investigate the report of a local resident receiving the cash after selling an item on Marketplace. After the in-person transaction, the money was taken to the bank for deposit when it was refused and police were contacted. This remains under investigation. ST25020370

Vehicle Entries

Two vehicles, parked at an address on Edward Street have been reported damaged and entered. On Wednesday, officers were called to investigate the incident that occurred at some point in the overnight hours on Tuesday. Damage to the vehicles was observed by an employee when arriving to work. This remains under investigation. ST25020337

Warrant Arrest

A 26 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. On Wednesday, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding probation warrant that was issued in July. She was processed and released on an appearance notice with a future court date. ST25020356

Theft

Two e-scooters with a combined value of $1,250 have been reported stolen from an address on Talbot Street. On Wednesday evening officers were called to the address to investigate the report of the scooters, that had been secured and locked on November 2nd, being stolen. This remains under investigation. Grocery items have been reported stolen from a convenience store on Talbot Street. On Wednesday, officers were called to the store to investigate the theft. Video of the incident is available and being provided to police. ST25020391
