Warrant arrest

A 35 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 27th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Failure to Comply with Probation. The individual was arrested and transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released with a future court date. ST24004774

An 18 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 27th 2024, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in on an outstanding warrant with our service stemming from an incident in July of 2023. The 18 year old was processed and released with a future court date. ST24004801

A 34 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 27th 2024, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000 after being identified as the person responsible in a shoplifting incident, earlier this month. The 34 year old was arrested and transported to police headquarters. While being processed, officers located approximately two grams of Methamphetamine. The individual was additionally charged with one count Possession of a Control Substance and processed for court where they were remanded into custody. ST24004791

Assault 

Two teens have been arrested in relation to an assault investigation. On Wednesday March 27th 2024, police learned of an altercation that occurred at a local high school the day before. Officers attended the school to review video surveillance of the incident and identify the parties involved. Through investigation police confirmed an altercation between students had turned physical, leaving one student with minor injuries. As a result, a 15 year old and 17 year old were charged with one count Assault. Both of the accused attended police headquarters to turn themselves in. The youth were processed on the charges and were both released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24004779

A 39 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 27th 2024, officers were called to west end of the city to investigate the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police learned that parties involved were known to each other and a verbal argument between the two had turned physical. As a result, a 39 year old St. Thomas resident was charge with one count of Assault and one count Assault with a Weapon. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST24004827

Fraud

A local resident is out approximately $2,000 after falling victim to a bitcoin scam. On Wednesday March 27th 2024, the individual contacted police to report that they had been contacted several times by someone identifying themselves as the RCMP and from Service Canada, stating that they owed their agencies money. The victim followed the payment instructions provided which led to processing funds through a bitcoin machine. This remains under investigation. ST24004803

Recovered Motor Vehicle

The white 2014 Mini Cooper Countryman reported stolen on Monday March 25th 2024, has been recovered. Officers with the London police service contact STPS yesterday to notify that the vehicle had been located in London. The owner of the vehicle was notified and the vehicle was towed. RIDE

Approximately 30 vehicles were stopped and their drivers spoken to during a ride program in the city early this morning, with no infractions found. ST24004835
