Warrant Arrest & Weapons Charges
As the result of a traffic stop early this morning, a 20 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested and charged with several offences. Just after 2:30 a.m. the individual, known to police to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon and Failure to Comply with Probation stemming from an incident in February, was arrested. The 20 year old was transported to police headquarters to be processed. While being processed, officers found the individual to be in possession of replica fire arm, three pocket knives, a flick knife and a makeshift billy-club resulting in the charges below:
- Six counts of Failure to Comply with Probation Order
- Five counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order
- Carry a Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
The 20 year old was held for a morning court appearance and was remanded into custody. ST25004972/4976
Assault
A 31 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 26th 2025, police were called to a disturbance in the 800 block of Talbot Street. Upon arrival, officers learned a verbal argument between two people had escalated resulting in a physical assault taking place. The victim had sustained minor injuries. The accused had left the area prior to police arrival, but was located a short time later. The 31 year old has been charged with one count of Assault and was released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25004961
Indecent Act Arrest
A 31 year old Port Stanley resident has been arrested and charged with one count of Indecent Act after an incident that occurred in the city, last week. On Wednesday March 26th 2025, the individual attended police headquarters to turn themselves in. The 31 year old was processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25004945/4531
Sexual Assault Arrest
As the result of a sexual assault investigation that began earlier this month, a 26 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. The individual had been charged after being identified as the person responsible in an incident reported to police on March 13th. On Wednesday March 26th 2025, the 26 year old attended police headquarters to turn themselves in. They were processed and released on an undertaking with a future court date. ST25004946/4120
Warrant Arrests
A 40 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 26th 2025, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for Theft under $5,000. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and released on an appearance notice. ST25004921
A 36 year old St. Thomas resident has been arrested. On Wednesday March 26th 2025, officers on community patrol located the individual known to them to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with our service for three counts of Mischief stemming from incidents in February. The individual was transported to police headquarters where they were processed and held for a morning court appearance and were remanded into custody. ST25004967
RIDE
St. Thomas police are pleased to share that of the vehicles stopped and their drivers spoken to during a RIDE program in the city on Wednesday afternoon, no infractions were found. STPS wishes to thank the community for continuing to drive safe and sober. ST25004935
