Police Investigating Multiple Theft Incidents

The St. Thomas Police Service is investigating several theft incidents reported across the city.

On March 10th, the report of a theft from a retail store on Talbot Street was received. It was reported that an unknown male suspect failed to pay for a bottle of liquor valued at $75. ST26004196

On March 11th, police responded to theft reports at retail store on Talbot Street. In one incident, a male suspect allegedly filled a cart with merchandise and left the store, loading the items into a grey minivan before leaving the area. Staff also advised that the same suspect attended the store the previous day failing to pay for their items. ST26004204/4205

In a separate incident, police were called after a customer reported observing a male leaving a retail store, carrying a basket containing electronics he didn’t pay for. The suspect left the area on a bicycle. Through investigation and review of CCTV footage, police identified the suspect and have charged a 33 year old St. Thomas man with Theft under $5,000. A warrant for his arrest has been requested. ST26004218

Early yesterday afternoon police responded to a theft at a business on Ross Street where a male entered the store, selected a sandwich from a cooler, and ran out the back door without paying. Video footage of the incident has been provided to police. ST26004195

The investigation into these incidents remains ongoing.

Bail Violation 

A 42 year old St. Thomas man has been arrested. On Wednesday, a remote monitoring company notified police that the accused, bound by several release conditions including to remain in their residence, had left. Officers located the individual at an address provided by the monitoring company. Charged with Failure to Comply with Release Order, he was transported to police headquarters, processed and held for a morning court appearance. ST26004197

Warrant Arrest 

A 47 year old St. Thomas woman has been arrested. While on an unrelated call for service last night, officers located the individual known to them to be wanted by our service on an outstanding warrant for Break and Enter and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime dating back to an incident in 2023. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and held for court. ST26004219
